Batch 4 - Production Update #1

Welcome everyone!

Wow wow, I'm blown away by all the support. Batch 4 was our biggest batch yet! Thank you.

If you're new here, I'm Nathan. I run Cryptic Crafter with my wife Monique. This is the first production update for Batch 4.

I aim to send monthly update emails to keep you in the loop on how the production is going for Batch 4 of the Inscryption Board game.

Just as a reminder, our estimate is about 5-7 months for production and shipping. The earlier you ordered, the earlier your box will ship.

On average it takes about 1-2 months for production, 1-2 months for international sea shipping to our workshop in Australia, and 1-2 months for final assembly and shipping.

As our full box sets have so many parts, we have to wait for everything to be completed before we can start shipping anything!

Ordering has begun!

The full box sets are made up of many individual components. Some of these we make from scratch, others are ordered in. And all of them we carefully check before sending out.

I've put in orders for almost every part already. We try to keep things local in Australia where we can but some parts aren't available here so are shipped in from overseas!

For our overseas suppliers, I send independent third party inspectors to the factories. Not only to check the quality of the product is up to our high standards, but also to check the working conditions and safety of the environments. I want to make sure we're supporting safe and sustainable businesses.

At this stage, I don't think that delay will affect our overall timeline.
Once the cards arrive, we pack them into boxes, add 6 card dividers for different categories. And also seal them into foil packs for Kaycee's mod.

We use a high quality "casino" grade linen card stock. It's got a black core and a linen texture which makes them hard wearing and great feeling.

I've had a box of cards sitting in my hot car, and also on a window sill cooking in the direct Aussie sun for the last two years, and I'm happy to report they're still great and haven't changed in quality at all.

Charity Donations

If you didn't know, we're part of 1% for the Planet!

1% of all revenue is donated to environmental charities.
That means you essentially donated about $4-5 dollars for every full box order!

I love donating to the Australian charity "FAME"
The Foundation for Australia’s Most Endangered Species

They have specific projects I can directly donate to, so I know where the money is going.

This batch I'm thinking I'll donate to Creating Glideways for the Southern Greater Glider in the Wombeyan Reserve, New South Wales.
Not only is this close to home for me, they also look like creatures from Inscryption. So it feels appropriate.
