Production Update #1

Hey everyone! This might be a long one!
This was sent as a production update email on the 25th Sept 2024

If you don’t know me, I’m Nathan! I run Cryptic Crafter together with my wife! This is our first production update for Batch 2 of the Inscryption Board Game!

First of all I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who made an order with us for your trust and support! Just one year ago I was just about to start selling this board game for the first time. My friends and family loved it, but I still had my doubts that anyone would be very interested in my IRL game adaptation.

Little did I know, fast forward one year and this fun little adventure has become bigger and better than I could have ever imagined!

It really makes my day every time I hear how excited someone is to get theirs, or when I see photos of someone playing it! So again, thank you!

Okay, on to the production update!

Empty Card Boxes

Above, Empty card boxes waiting patiently for their cards to arrive

All the parts have been ordered, and are in production!
And lots have already arrived, like the card boxes, Kaycee’s foil pouches, playmats, candles, bones, tins, magnets and wood parts!

If you were around last time, you know that we had to wait for everything to be ready before we even started the process of the foam inserts. That was a huge pinch point that delayed the project.

This time around, we’re way more prepared and the foam inserts are already completed and on their way to us!

Part of being more prepared is also being prepared for the unexpected. Everything seems to be going to plan at this stage, but I’m just waiting for something to surprise us. I’m sure you’ll hear about whatever that is in the next update.

I also got some nice new shelves, which has made me much more excited than I ever thought I would be for shelving.

Our huge stack of wood arrived for the scales. We’re using Australian Blackwood and I absolutely love the natural grain texture and slight variation between the panels

We’ve brought all our laser cutting in house for Batch 2, which means we can have full control over every step of the process.

This means lots of testing, fine tuning, and more testing.

Each scale has many different steps, but it can be quite relaxing putting them all together.

Ask me again in week if I still have the same answer…

We also just got the foil packs today! They look amazing. The playing cards should be arriving next week for us to pack and seal up.

Overall, we’re on track. About 1 month into our 4-6 month production timeline. It’s still too far away to give you a more accurate timeframe, I’ll keep you all posted.

If you ordered individual parts, I’ll ship those out as soon as they arrive! And if you ordered the full box we’ll have to wait for every part to be completed before we can start final assembly.

Thank you again, and as always feel free to reach out to me anytime at nathan@crypticcrafter.com

Cryptically,
Nathan
